Friends of BECON

Friends of BECON is an approved entity of the Broward Education Foundation, Inc. and affiliated with the School Board of Broward County, Florida. The Broward Education Foundation is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization that by state statute is the Direct Support Organization of the School Board of Broward County. The mission of the Foundation is to provide resources to students, teachers and other employees to help them achieve educational success.

Contributions to the Friends of BECON help support the development and production of educational programming for BECON-TV (WBEC-TV/DT), part of BECON, the Broward Education Communications Network. BECON-TV is a broadcast television station licensed by the FCC to provide family-oriented, non-commercial, educational programming to the South Florida community. Programming airs throughout Broward County on UHF channel 63, cable channel 19 in Broward and cable channel 16 in Miami-Dade County.
