American Muslim Heritage Month

The Diversity, Prevention and Intervention Department has a number of resources you can use to promote awareness of the contributions American Muslims have made and to understand the challenges they have faced since the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Find them at:  Broward Prevention - American Muslim Heritage Month.

Asian American Heritage Month

The month of May was chosen to commemorate both the arrival in May of 1843 of the first Japanese immigrants to the US and the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, which was largely built by Chinese immigrants, in May of 1869. Learn more by viewing A History of Chinese American Achievement on Classroom Channel 14. An Educator’s Guide is available for this program. See our schedule for air times.
