Videoconferencing Programs

BECON Distance Learning offers quality educational programs through videoconferencing. Videoconferencing allows multiple locations to simultaneously interact through compressed audio and video technology. Videoconferencing takes place through Internet Protocol or ISDN telephone lines. The School Board of Broward County is a national leader in videoconferencing utilization with over 350 networked locations. All Broward schools and administrative sites have access to this cutting edge technology.

Through our weekly videoconference programs, students in grades Pre-K to 5 are engaged in interactive instruction taught by BECON Distance Learning teachers. Students also participate in “virtual” field trips outside of Broward County. Learning is done in “real time” in which the student and host interact virtually face-to-face.
