Distance Learning

The BECON Distance Learning Department offers educational videoconference classes and programs to Pre-Kindergarten through high school students and teachers. The department also is home to Broward Virtual School.

Broward Virtual School has franchised the award-winning program for online learning from the Florida Virtual School. Broward County students have the opportunity to take middle and high school courses online. All virtual courses are taught by Broward County teachers. Broward Virtual School offers both full-time and part-time enrollment to middle and high school students.

BECON’s videoconferencing programs support the elementary and middle school curricula. There is also a variety of videoconference events for high school students and teachers. Posted on the web site are elementary and middle school academic classes that include lesson plans, class schedules, pictures, information, and teacher resources. We also offer virtual field trips that transform the classroom into an environment where interactive learning is extended beyond the classroom into a world of global learning.

BECON Distance Learning event webstreaming capabilities enable us to web cast videoconference events to the desktop computer. State of the art webstreaming technology delivers TV quality programming that can be live or on demand.
